1. Favourite character type/archetype and WHY? What is compelling to you about characters with those traits/in this situation?

 My favourite characters mostly die in the end, or at least set on a self-inflicted journey/exile to redeem themselves. Why? Because they are mostly a counter balance to the main character’s well, character and his/her set of principles. Characters like that, who are not necessarily “bad guys” or “chaotic evil”, simply know the world well enough to either agree with it’s boundaries or not – you can agree with them or not, but still, they truly flesh out the presented world.

2. What superpower would you like to have?

 I always liked characters with fire powers the most (like firebenders from AtLA). But if I want to HAVE such power is a different thing.

3. Favourite video game(s)? What do you like about them?

 “the witcher” trilogy – because I’m a huge “the witcher” fan – that the main reason. I also like nostalgia in the first game, Vernon Roche and graphics in II & III and music in overall.

 “Brothers: tales of the two sons” – it’s like an interactive folk tale, I love everything about it from story, through visuals to soundtrack (I often listen to it while I draw)!

 “Journey” is such a great game.

 “Bastion” – not the most elaborate of stories but I love the narrator/narration.

 I also enjoyed “Enslaved: Odyssey to the west” and 2008’s reboot of “Prince of Persia” – but ONLY aesthetic wise. They are beautiful looking games with some clever ideas but the overall execution of those titles seems so… unfinished. As if the developers run out of steam halfway through the project so they haphazardly crammed all they had together and prayed to saint Rita at the release date.

 Those of course are just examples on the top of my head. Funny thing is I’m more of a “treats let’s plays like TV shows” kind of person, so most of the games I know, I didn’t play myself.

 However, I have a list of games I REALLY want to play one day thus I avoid their let’s plays, walkthroughs or reviews like a plague – Campo Santo's Firewatch is one of them. I just don’t have proper equipment, money, time and most importantly patience and skills. But one day… one day, all those titles will be purchased and played.

4. Your favourite Original Character of yours if you have any? If not try creating one in a few sentences

 I guess Kajetan (Na psa urok!/Curse a dog!) is an obvious choice. I mean, this grumpy, monster-hunting nobleman is with me for quite some time and had few incarnations over the years!

To this day, whenever I have enough free time, I draw new pages to his story! It’s less and less frequent but I still plan new obstacles for him to overcome!

Andrzej Sukurs (”miazmatyczna teoria chorób”/“miasma theory”) is also at the top of my “top 10” list, as his story tackles themes I’m especially interested in like cowardliness, loneliness, selfish exploitation of other human beings, shortage of coffee… to name a few.

 To tell the truth most of my characters are “my favourite” one way or another; it’s like comparing apples to oranges really. Just like apples and oranges I love them all but I am allergic to some.

 (And if you ever decide to draw any of my OCs my dear reader, not only those two, I would be ecstatic )

5. Where do you find inspiration?

 It depends on a project, most often I’m influenced by a movie, book or comics and want to tackle the topics of those works in my own way and drawings.

Sometimes it’s a simple thing like something someone said during dinner or an encounter on the street. I have a corkboard full of such quotes and descriptions just waiting for “better times”.

6. Most hated book/film/comic/other medium example and why?

 The true thing that makes my blood boil (apart of “King Matt the first” by Korczak) is foreign manga - by that I mean Mangas created outside of Japan by none-Japanese authors.

 I guess for me it’s a struggle with a definition of comics and manga themselves: why everyone on the internet and beyond can draw “manga” except the rest of Asia (Koreans, for example, have “manhwa” for crying out loud), why all books about comics clearly separates Manga and comics/graphic novels if anyone can draw them?

And before you, my dear Otaku, start to rant, I’m aware that in Japanese language Manga is synonymous with a comics, so in JAPAN every comics is called “Manga” but that’s beside the point...

And let’s face it, a lot of those “foreign mangas” try to emulate the Japanese formula and fail miserably doing so mostly by copying "big boobs and kawaii eyes" blindly without understanding what makes them so appealing to the readers in the first place: like cultural aesthetics, pacing of a story, structure of a storytelling, etc.

 7. Would you take the Ring to Mordor?

 Can I exchange a bunch of males for a giant eagle to get me there quickly and safely? No? why? plot? What plot?

8. Are you prone to sales of things that interest you?

 I guess so. Books, comics and games ARE expensive. So if the sale involves titles I REALLY want to have, then I’ll buy them. but that’s that - I just don’t have enough spare money for sales in general.

9. Do you believe that everybody forges their own path?

 Yes and no. to some extend we are all forging our own paths even due indecisions – what you give is what you get. But there are certain factors/circumstances that can’t be overcame no matter what Disney’s movies claim.

 A fish can swim against a river’s current but it will never climb a tree, because if it did, it wouldn’t be a fish thus couldn’t swim against the current of a river.

10. How would your dream room look like?

 Dream room? *look around my own den*

Tidy I guess? But not like, cleaned up, just… organized

 and nifty drawing table would be awesome,

 thicker walls

 proper swivel chair would also be a plus.

1. What is your favourite animal?

I’ve always wanted a rat. I also love dogs.

2. Favourite book character?

Just one? Coz I have couple of them: Cahir Mawr Dryffyn Aep Calleach from The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski, Professor Bell from Professor Bell by Joann Sfar, Maxim Osa from Maxim Osa by Igor Baranko, Black Jack form Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka… to name a few.

3. Where would you spend your last days, if you know you're gonna die soon?

how many those last days I have left? I guess I would either draw comics till my last breath or cry in other peoples’ shoulders wailing how life’s unfair. Where I would do such activities doesn’t really matter at that point.

4. You can travel anywhere you want. Where would you go?

Seaside. It is a place saturated with nostalgia for me, something that reminds me of proper vacation and I haven’t had that in years! By proper, I mean: when you leave the house and worries behind for couple of days.

5. What has been the most important lesson in your life this far?

That when you’re struck with anxiety, slug it out and eventually something good will happen to balance out the fear you harbour.

If I could choose, I would rather be a witcher.

 7. What is your silliest fear?

That my ex-friend has a successful career as a comics artist I’m unaware of. Sounds ridiculous isn’t it?

8. Tell me the creepiest scary tale you know! Short version is okay.

 I love short, horror stories that circle around the internet (1-3 sentences long, I believe they originate from Reddit). I have few of my all time favourite, like:

 The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock at the door.

Or

I begin tucking him into bed and he tells me, “daddy check for monsters under my bed”. I look underneath for his amusement and see him, another him, under the bed, starring back at me quivering and whispering “daddy there is somebody on my bed”

9. Now tell me the recipe of your favourite dessert!

You go to a cabinet where mom keeps her sweets and treats. You silently open it’s doors and reach your hand into the darkness. Then you grab the first thing your hand touches. Viola! Enjoy!

10. Can you recall your first memory ever? What is it?

I can’t tell really. It’s hard to distinguish if I remember something by myself or was it told to me and I adapted it as my memory… if you catch mu drift.
